Eastern Shore Tourism Corporation

Relax- that’s not hard when you land on the longest stretch of wild coastline remaining on the entire East Coast. Located a short distance from major cities, the Eastern Shore is home to the car-less Tangier Island, 14 undeveloped seaside barrier islands, an award-winning winery, and historic waterfront towns like charming Cape Charles and Onancock. We’re a BLAST – literally! Rocket launches soar over our skies not far from our wild Chincoteague Ponies, thanks to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport and NASA. Our thriving artisan’s community and authentic coastal heritage make us unique. Experience our history and see watermen tilling tides and visit family farms on both bayside and seaside. We think you’ll like it here.

For over two decades, we have been teaching, performing, and celebrating the arts on the Eastern Shore. We offer arts education and programming in an exceptional venue.

The Town of Cape Charles has a variety of facilities which are available for special events, either public or private. The Civic Center provides a great space for meetings. Use link below to access facility use form to reserve this space.

Cape Charles Main Street is a proud member of the Virginia Main Street program, which focuses on revitalizing the economic vitality of downtown commercial districts using the National Main Street Center’s proven Main Street Approach. This comprehensive approach to revitalization is based on our community’s unique heritage and attributes and relies on our local resources and initiatives. We work together to develop strategies for long-term economic growth and pride in Cape Charles’ downtown.

CCML contains current and popular books, audio books, and e-books for adults, teens, and children. We have two newspapers, over 40 magazines titles, and a dynamic DVD and Blu-ray collection.  The Library offers many programs throughout the year for children, teens, and adults. Programs include story time for toddlers & babies and preschoolers, a summer reading program, workshops, and community information programs as well. All residents of the Eastern Shore of Virginia can get a free library card by completing an application and presenting photo ID and proof of residency. Stop in to get your library card! The Cape Charles Town Marina ably hosts a unique mix of commercial, industrial, and recreational vessels in its protective basin boasting 95 slips, 4 T- Heads ranging from 60 to 120 feet and 1200 feet of dock space. Whether for work or play, patrons enjoy access to the greatest fishing areas on the Chesapeake Bay. Visitors can watch watermen haul in and off-load their daily catches of blue crabs, horse shoe crabs, conchs, fish, clams, shark and scallops. The Harbor’s state-of-the-art public boat ramps are enjoyed by both individual pleasure and sport fishing crafts as well as the charter boats that run expeditions daily for cobia, striped bass, flounder, drum, spade, trout and croaker. Transient vessels appreciate the Harbor for its deep-water slips and docks and short walk to the re-emerging Historic Town. View our rates.
