Celebrated during the peak of the autumn avian migration along the Atlantic Flyway\, this community event is designed to connect nature enthusiasts\, families\, and conservationists with the region’s incredible biodiversity. \nThe tip of the Delmarva Peninsula serves as a critical bottleneck and vital resting stop for hundreds of migrating bird species. Attendees can expect a full day of outdoor activities\, including expert-guided bird walks\, specialized talks about birds\, youth-focused educational activities\, and a charity raffle featuring premium outdoor gear. 100% of the proceeds generated from the festival will directly fund public land conservation\, wildlife research\, and infrastructure projects within Kiptopeke State Park. \n“Mid-October offers some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing of the year on Virginia’s Eastern Shore\,” said Jim McDaniel President of the Friends of Kiptopeke State Park. “Whether you are a seasoned birder hoping to spot migrating raptors at the CVWO Hawkwatch platform or a family looking to experience the park in a new way\, this collaborative festival offers a unique chance to celebrate and protect our local public lands.” \nThe festival is open to the public\, and birders of all experience levels are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own binoculars\, though a limited number of gear loaners will be available for beginners on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nFor more information about the event schedule\, registration details\, or to learn how to support the park\, please visit our website and  follow updates on social media. \nAbout the Friends of Kiptopeke State Park:\nThe Friends of Kiptopeke State Park is a registered 501(c)(3) citizen support organization whose mission is to enhance our community through recreation\, education\, advocacy\, and land conservation.  We   identify and promote activities to conserve\, enhance\, and interpret the cultural and historic resources of Kiptopeke State Park. \nAbout the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory:\nThe Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory (CVWO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife through field research\, habitat conservation\, and public education.
