DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat for Humanity would like to invite you to participate in the 29th Annual February Freeze. The dip in the bay will be held Saturday\, February 28\, 2026\, at the Cape Charles Beach. The proceeds from the February Freeze are used to help provide vital housing for those in need on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We are grateful that fundraising efforts have allowed us to build on average two houses a year. Eastern Shore Habitat hosts three major fundraisers a year and this event is integral for us to continue our mission. The need for housing is in great demand on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Annually\, we receive numerous applicants asking to be selected for houses\, and only two applicants are chosen by the selection committee for Habitat houses each year. \nThere are a few ways for you to be involved in the Annual February Freeze. First\, you can participate as an individual or as a team in raising pledges to take the plunge with fellow dippers. Every week\, more and more people are showing up—headphones on\, feet in the water\, smiles everywhere. Sunset Silent Disco is officially a thing now\, and it’s only getting bigger! \nIf you’ve never been to a silent disco\, here’s the deal: everyone gets wireless headphones and can flip between three channels of music\, curated by live DJs. You’ll be dancing to your favorite beat while the beach stays totally quiet (well… except for the sound of people laughing and singing off-key!) Each week offers an eclectic variety of music\, from pop hits to 70s & 80s throwback grooves\, and get this ~ every week features an all-request line\, so you\, the participant\, can hear just what you want! Add you and your family’s favorites to our list during the disco and we’ll throw it on for you! \nAnd because the bay is shallow and calm\, most of the dancing actually happens in the water\, not on the sand—which somehow makes it even better. One family who’s been vacationing in Cape Charles for 11 years said this was the highlight of all their trips. Come out and see what it’s all about! \nCost is $20 for adults\, and $10 for kids 12 & under.
